How stretched are the big players?
Foreign institutions (FIIs) in index futures, compared with the last two to three weeks. The more one-sided the position, the sharper the move when it turns.
Crowded longs
Stocks where price and open interest have both climbed over the past week: many traders are long. “Turning” means the last session went the other way, so those longs may be under pressure. See “Live now” for today.

Crowded shorts
Stocks where price fell while open interest rose over the past week: many traders are short. “Turning” means the last session showed covering or a bounce, so those shorts may be under pressure. See “Live now” for today.

Total OI is the number of open contracts (lots, all expiries added); OI ₹ Cr is the same open interest as a money value. Daily signals, oldest to newest: green = long buildup or short covering (price up), red = short buildup or long unwinding (price down).
“Live now” compares today’s price with yesterday’s close, so you can see whether a crowded stock is turning today. The Status column is based on the last published NSE close.
How this is worked out. Prices are the stock’s own closing prices from NSE’s cash-market report, so the monthly futures expiry never distorts them; open interest comes from NSE’s derivatives report, with all expiries of each stock future added together, over the last six trading days; only contracts with at least ₹50 crore of open interest are listed. Price up with open interest up is long buildup; price down with open interest up is short buildup; price down with open interest down is long unwinding; price up with open interest down is short covering. NSE does not publish who holds each stock position, so a “crowded” stock is inferred from price and open interest, not known. These labels describe what the numbers did; they are not forecasts, and a crowded position can stay crowded for a long time. CapitCue shows market data only.
